Meet Our Newest Doctor, Dr. Brown!

Dr. Kelley Brown was born and raised in the small town of Fayetteville, TN, just an hour and a half south of Nashville. She is the oldest of four children and grew up on a large family farm with several family dogs, cats, beef cattle, and horses.

Dr. Brown’s favorite past-time growing up was basketball, which she played from nine years old up through high school. Upon graduation from Lincoln County High, she was awarded a basketball scholarship to play for the Lady Bucks at Motlow State in Tullahoma, TN. While completing her undergraduate studies she realized her passion for veterinary medicine, a field where she could practice medicine in a wide range of roles and settings, while still helping people of the community and their four-legged family members.

She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and continued on to veterinary school at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. She received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from UT in May, 2015. During her time at UT Veterinary Medical Center, she was the president of the Veterinary Business Management Club, a select student member of the North American Business Association, Student Leader of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), and she served for a year with AAHA on the National Leadership team as the Student Director of Professional Development in order to further business, management, and leadership skills in veterinary students across the nation.

Dr. Brown moved back to middle Tennessee after graduation to be closer to home, friends, and family. She and her boyfriend, Nathaniel, live in Hendersonville with their sweet pit bull mutt Cade, and two cats, Alli and Layla.

In addition to joining our team at Lebanon Animal Hospital, Dr. Brown is also a relief vet for Nashville Pet Emergency Center and is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Her favorite areas of medicine are behavior, geriatrics, diagnostic imaging, and canine rehabilitation.
